Welcome! I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Saint Augustine, Florida. I have over a decade of experience in providing therapy and am one of the early pioneers in developing and scaling online therapy. Through my work in teletherapy and training in multicultural counseling, I have been able to help people in over 54 countries! What I know from my experience is that although we are all unique individuals and have our own culture, many of life’s concerns and dilemmas are universal.
I have extensive training and experience in a variety of different treatment methods, although my theoretical orientation (clinical talk the style for which I practice) is based in person-centered and existential therapy. Post-graduation, I worked for many years with Dr. Irvin Yalom who is an American Existential Psychiatrist, well known author and emeritus professor of psychiatry at Stanford University. I learned a lot from his expertise and our time together was an influence in my own style. It was an experience of a lifetime because there is a long-lineage, a kind of “family tree” of therapists, who have shared their knowledge with and through one another and I have gotten to be a part of that. I feel privileged to say that I can trace my therapy training and work roots from Dr. Irvin Yalom to Rollo May, Viktor Frankl, Carl Rogers and all the way back to Sigmund Freud!
While I am a part of this old school greatness, I also embrace the modern with my work in technology and innovation and so the helping and healing of psychotherapy continues.
